How do I log in, and where do I land?

Accepted Answer

Sign in the same way as any Higgler account (email + one-time code, or the dev login on staging). If your account has been granted the logistics role by an admin, you'll land on the Crawfty Logistics dashboard at /logistics/dashboard, with three tabs: Shipments, Calculator, and Rates. If your account doesn't have the logistics role yet, you'll see this onboarding page instead — ask an admin to grant it.

Shipments panel: how do I receive and measure a supplier's cartons?

The Shipments tab lists every shipment grouped by status. When a shipment shows status "announced" (a supplier has told us their tracking number, but nothing has arrived yet), tap Receive to open the intake form. Enter each carton's length, width, height (cm or m), weight (kg) and quantity — add more carton rows for a multi-carton shipment. Add a condition note and photos of the cartons as they arrived, then Save measurements. This creates the custody record and moves the shipment to "received_warehouse", which unlocks quoting.

How do I quote freight — Ocean vs Air? What is RT, chargeable weight, the 0.5 RT minimum, the collect fee, and the FCL hint?

Accepted Answer

Once a shipment is received, tap Quote to open the freight calculator, pre-filled with its measurements. Choose Ocean or Air. Ocean bills by RT (Revenue Ton) — the greater of CBM (volume) or tonnes (weight) — with a 0.5 RT minimum: even a tiny shipment is billed at least half an RT. Air bills by chargeable weight — the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (CBM × kg-per-CBM, default 167). Both modes add origin/destination line charges, customs (per HS-code block), any extra at-cost fees, and a collect fee — a percentage-based handling fee (with a minimum) for collecting payment on the customer's behalf. If the ocean quote's CBM is large enough that a 20ft container (FCL) would beat LCL pricing, you'll see an FCL hint. Tap Create quote to save it against the shipment (status becomes "quoted").

Rates panel: how do I adjust ocean and air rates, and is history kept?

The Rates tab shows the current rate card — ocean $/RT, origin/destination flat and per-RT charges plus line items, air $/kg and volumetric kg/CBM, customs per HS-code block, and the collect fee percentage/minimum. Below it is a form to publish a new version: rate cards are append-only, so saving never overwrites the current card — it creates a new version and keeps the old one in the History list below, with who changed it, when it took effect, and any note left. Every quote is stamped with the rate-card version that was active, so past quotes stay auditable even after rates change.

Why can't a shipment depart?

Accepted Answer

Depart is disabled (with a tooltip) while a shipment's status is "quoted" — freight must be paid before departure. Once the freight charge is settled (the customer pays from their Higgler wallet) and any goods balance owed to the supplier is cleared, the shipment moves to "paid" and Depart becomes active. This hard gate keeps freight from leaving the warehouse uncollected.

How does a supplier's tracking number become a shipment here?

When a Crawfty supplier ships an order and enters a tracking number (Supplier dashboard → Orders → ship), that tracking number auto-announces a shipment on this side — it appears in your Shipments tab with status "announced", linked to the supplier and order, ready to be received once the cartons physically arrive at the Shenzhen warehouse.

English, Simplified Chinese (中文), and Japanese (日本語) — use the language selector at the top of this page or the dashboard. CNS warehouse staff are Chinese-speaking, so 中文 is fully translated.
